About TestMySetup

TestMySetup is a small collection of free, fast tools for checking that your hardware works: your webcam, microphone, speakers, keyboard, mouse, screen and game controller.

Why I built it

I'm Angad, and I've spent about twelve years working in product management, business analysis and project management, delivering software for enterprise organizations and government agencies. A big part of that work has been user acceptance testing: checking, carefully and repeatedly, that a system does exactly what it is supposed to before real people rely on it.

The same habit applies to the gear on your desk. When I went looking for simple online device tests, many were cluttered, slow, or asked for more access than they needed. I wanted a set of tests that load instantly, explain clearly what the results mean, and never send your camera, microphone or keyboard data anywhere.

How the tests work

Every test runs entirely in your web browser using standard browser features. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored after you close the page. You can load a page, turn off your internet connection, and the test still works.

Who runs this site

TestMySetup is owned and operated by RKS Consulting LLC, a technology consulting company based in Connecticut, USA. The site is free to use and is supported by advertising.
