- Press Start full screen test.
- Click, or press the right arrow key, to move through each color. Look closely across the whole screen.
- Press Esc to exit.
Dead pixel or stuck pixel?
A dead pixel stays black on every color, most visible on the white screen. It usually cannot be fixed. A stuck pixel stays one color, like red, green or blue, and is most visible on black or on a different color. Stuck pixels can sometimes be revived.
Trying to fix a stuck pixel
The pixel fixer flashes the screen rapidly between black and white for a few minutes, which sometimes nudges a stuck pixel back to normal. Results are not guaranteed. Do not use the flashing mode if you are sensitive to flashing lights.
If the pixel is still stuck, check your monitor's warranty. Many manufacturers have a dead pixel policy that covers replacements once a certain number of pixels fail.
Frequently asked questions
Can a dead pixel be fixed?
A truly dead pixel usually cannot. A stuck pixel, which shows a single color, can sometimes be fixed with the flashing tool or gentle pressure using a soft cloth.
Does this work on phones and TVs?
Yes. Open the page in any browser and tap the screen to move through colors. For a TV, use the TV's built in browser or cast a browser tab.
Is the flashing mode safe?
It is safe for screens, but it flashes rapidly. Do not use it if you are sensitive to flashing light.
Should I test a used monitor before buying?
Yes. Run every color full screen before paying, especially white and black.
