How to test your controller
- Connect your controller by USB or Bluetooth.
- Press any button. Browsers only show a controller after a button is pressed.
- Press each button and pull each trigger. Buttons turn green once tested, and triggers fill up to show how far they are pressed.
- Move both sticks in full circles. The dots should reach the edge of each circle smoothly.
How to check for stick drift
Let go of both sticks completely. The dots should sit in the center, with values near 0.00. If a dot wanders or rests off center, the stick is drifting. Small values under about 0.05 are normal and are ignored by most games through a dead zone. Larger values cause your character or camera to move on its own.
Troubleshooting
Controller not detected
Press a button after connecting, since browsers wait for input before showing a controller. Try a different USB cable, as many cheap cables only carry power. For Bluetooth, make sure the controller is paired in your system settings first.
Buttons are mapped strangely
Controllers that report a standard mapping show proper button names. Others show generic numbers. This is normal for some third party and older controllers.
Vibration test does nothing
Vibration support depends on the browser and controller. Chrome and Edge support it for most Xbox and PlayStation controllers.
Frequently asked questions

Does this work with Xbox controllers?

What is stick drift?
Stick drift is when an analog stick reports movement while you are not touching it, usually because the sensor inside is worn or dirty.
Why do I have to press a button first?
For privacy, browsers hide connected controllers from websites until you interact with one.
Can I test two controllers at once?
